Homelessness is the condition and social category of people who don't have a regular house or dwelling because they cannot afford, pay for, or are otherwise unable to maintain regular, safe, and adequate housing, or they lack, "fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence".
The term homelessness may also include people whose primary nighttime residence is in a homeless shelter, in an institution that provides a temporary residence for individuals intended to be institutionalized, or in a public or private place not designed for use as a regular sleeping accommodation for human beings.
We know that young people who are homeless, vulnerably housed or leaving care of a local authority can be one of the most challenging service user groups to work with. They offer challenges that require a high level of expertise in providing care and support to ensure that they receive the same chances as everyone else to succeed.
LHA-ASRA Care & Support has built up it’s expertise over the years by working in successful partnerships, providing a customised service which meets the needs of young people across the East Midlands. We aim to provide service users with opportunities to acquire skills that will enable them to live independently, maximising access to education, employment and training.
We provide a scheme for young homeless people aged 18-25 in Lincolnshire, called Sleaford Foyer.
We also offer access to accommodation through our partner agencies, some of whom provide accommodation and support to people over the age of 25 as well as young people - please see the link for "partners".
